More Info | We have "Excellent Private Land" semi-guided or guided cow elk hunts with a 100% opportunity which generally run 100% harvest. Normally you will see 10 to 200 head of elk per day. Some hunters have actually seen over 500 head in one day while hunting. These hunts are very affordable, you will see a lot of animals, and you should take a lot of great elk meat home for table fare.
These are three day hunts that include accommodations, meals, a experienced guide for every three hunters and field care of your game.
When the cow is harvested it is transported to the meat processor for skinning and processing if you choose so. It is the hunter's responsibility to handle the arrangements with the processor or to final destination. This is a great opportunity to take home delicious elk meat without the expense, time and effort involved in a trophy bull elk hunt. Because the hunt is so affordable and fun, it is also an excellent one to take your wife or children on as well and take home even more meat! The first hunting period is an October/November hunt. It is by drawing only. We also take hunters during the second late cow season which takes place December 1st to December 31st and is also a drawing hunt. We usually have ranch permits available in case you don't draw, so if you book a hunt you know you're going hunting. Application deadline for both hunts is the first Tuesday in April. Leftover licenses for both hunts can be purchased on a first come first serve basis after August 12th through the Division of Wildlife.
