More Info | These Colorado archery elk hunts are the prime time to hunt elk during the rut. If you have ever wanted to hunt Trophy Elk with a bow this is the hunt for you. The bulls are rutting hard and the battle of the herd bulls has begun. If you have never had the opportunity to hunt elk during the rut, then your in for great experience. A crisp cool morning can bring valleys and mountains alive as the thundering roars of bugling elk encompass you. This my friends will definitely get your blood pumping and make the hair on your neck stand up An up and close encounter with one of natures most intense big game animals makes for an exhilarating hunt to sat the least. There are few hunts in natures wilds which will test the nerves and skills of an archery hunter. We place this hunt among the top!
Our archery Elk and Deer hunts are offered in 2 forms:
Hunt #1:
This is a do it yourself semi-guided hunt. You will be shown the area's of the ranch you can hunt with a good description of typical elk movements and the best known techniques to set up. You may bring your own equipment including any portable stands or blinds and camp on the ranch if desired or choose to stay at a near by motel and commute daily. A competent guide or myself will be there daily and help out with any questions or strategies about the hunt. These are 6 day hunts. You may come 2 days prior to the hunt for setup and scouting but must depart the following morning after your hunt is completed. 4 wheelers are allowed but not necessary. The fee for this hunt is $1750.00
Hunt #2:
This is a 6 day, 1x1 fully guided hunt with all meals and 7 nights lodging included. A maximum of 4 hunters are taken for this hunt. A seasoned guide will assist you in taking on the challenge of getting in range of a bull, the rest is up to you! If you are new to elk hunting this style of hunt would prove most productive. Our experienced guides know how to effectively hunt each ranch using their proven skills and techniques to make your hunt successful The fee for this hunt is $3500.00
Terrain
The great diversity of landscapes here allows you a generous set of options to choose from. With Alfalfa fields, creek bottoms, hay fields, cotton wood meadows, aspen groves, cedar and juniper covered mountains, creek bottoms, etc the wildlife has a great source of food and excellent habitat all located on the ranches. Huts take place from approx, 5,000 ft to 7,500 ft in elevation.
